RED KING CRAB, THE

The new giant in the Atlantic Ocean

RED KING CRAB, THE

Experience a fantastic creation with a complicated behaviour. We are observers during the flirtation of a large male crab, approximately 6-7kg, as he helps a female change her shell prior to spawning. Meet a blue variation of the Red King Crab which measures 140cm from the tip of one leg to the other. Meet the researcher that first introduced the King Crab into the sea at Murmansk in 1961 and who now believes that the crab will inhabit the Atlantic Ocean down to Gibraltar and also the researcher that believes that the large crab can lead to “an ecological crises” in the Barents Sea.
The film depicts unique underwater pictures of the King Crab’s way of life that no one has ever seen – until now!
