What is so special about a couple walking back to where they met each other? Nothing, except that these two met at the North Pole! In May 2004, Bettina Aller and Jean Gabriel Leynaud reached the North Pole after a 56 days expedition across the Artic ice. They crossed close to 1000 km of ice, swam in the polar sea, climbed pack ice walls and pulled their 90 kilo sledges behind them for days, only help by the force of their dream and their love.
Bettina became the first Scandinavian women achieving this expedition (and one of the very few women in the world). Jean-Gabriel became the first professional film maker achieving and filming such an extreme expedition. Lovers on the Ice shows us a polar adventure a way it has never been seen before.
