ART SAFARI 3
Wannabee artist Ben Lewis on the lookout for the world’s leading contemporary artists
Presented by award-winning documentary-maker, art critic and misunderstood self- proclaimed artist, Ben Lewis, Art Safari has established an unequalled reputation for intellectual insight, intelligent analysis and ironic investigation.
Following the international success of the second run of ‘Art Safari’, Europe’s best-loved series on contemporary art, Bergmann Pictures are planning a third series for completion in 2008.
In his first series Ben climbed skyscrapers, donned a giant mask and burgled houses in his determined attempt to get inside the heads of his subjects. In his second series he got tattooed by one artist, bollocked by another, played conceptual games with a third and carried around a retrospective of a fourth in his jacket pocket.
In the next series, Ben will investigate the new frontiers of contemporary art in new set of unpredictable adventures. He is already laying plans to train a class of primary school kids as conceptual artists, to join a twenty-first-century artist’s utopia in California, to cross the mysterious bridge from documentary film-maker to documentary video artist, to learn how to become an Afro-American contemporary artist, and to brush up the new generation of painters the wrong way.
