DRUNKEN KIDS
Every year 2000 kids in Denmark are rushed to hospital to be pumped out for alcohol poisoning. But this is not just a national problem – kids everywhere have easy access to alcohol, they drink too much and they get younger and younger starting out.
The film follows two kids, Emilie at 14 and 15 year old Jacob, when they “warm up” before going out in the weekends. Jacob can easily drink 10-15 beers on an evening when he’s with his friends. They start drinking at home and continue out on the town where they easily are being served alcohol even though the law request that you should be minimum 18 years old before being served alcohol in public places.
Emilie has her mother’s blessing in drinking some alcohol before going out. That way her mother hopes that she can control her daughter’s drinking. Generally parents are worried but often can’t do anything about it because drinking is so common.
The statistics are alarming and doctors are calling for alert as this can have serious consequences for the kids later in life. Alcoholism and death are just some them.
